Job Description

Job Title: Senior Hardware Design Lead

Location: Chennai (Onsite)

Experience: 8–12+ years

About the Role:

Dhyan is seeking a Senior Hardware Design Lead to drive innovation and quality in the development of next-generation IoT and Smart City devices. The role involves leading hardware design and validation efforts, guiding vendors, and ensuring robust, compliant, and scalable hardware solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Hardware Design Leadership
Review schematic design, PCB layouts, and component selection.
Ensure electrical, surge, metering, and wireless performance standards are met.
Support design-for-manufacturability (DFM) and design-for-reliability (DFR).
Collaborate closely with firmware teams for smooth hardware-software integration.
Validation Support
Define and support validation and test requirements (EVT/DVT/PVT).
Guide vendors through debugging, design corrections, and compliance checks.
Analyze validation data and recommend improvements.
Vendor and Cross-Functional Collaboration
Act as the technical authority for vendors and manufacturing partners.
Review documentation, ensure UL/FCC/CE/IEC certification readiness.
Partner with QA, supply chain, and product teams for scalable production.
Continuous Improvement
Lead root cause analysis for design/validation issues.
Propose design alternatives and share best practices.

Required Skills:

Expertise in analog/digital circuit design and power electronics.
Experience with high-voltage systems (up to 480V) and IoT hardware.
Strong hands-on knowledge of validation methods (surge, EMC/EMI, RF, thermal).
Proficiency with lab equipment (oscilloscope, power analyzer, spectrum analyzer).
Familiarity with standards: UL, FCC, CE, IEC, ANSI/NEMA, DALI, D4i, 0-10V, Zhaga.
Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
8–12+ years of experience in hardware design and validation.
Proven experience in high-voltage IoT or industrial product design.
Knowledge of streetlight controllers, metering, and surge protection is a plus.
